Original job description
About NorthbeamNorthbeam is building the world's most advanced marketing intelligence platform, providing top eCommerce brands a unified view of their business data through powerful attribution modeling and customizable dashboards. Our technology helps customers accurately track ad spend, understand the full customer journey, and drive profitable growth. Machine learning has been at the heart of Northbeam since day one: our full suite of measurement, spanning multi-touch attribution, MMM+, and incrementality, is built on it, along with laser-accurate first-party data. Now we're taking that foundation further, using AI to help brands operationalize their data and turn Northbeam insights into automated decisions.
We're experiencing rapid growth, have strong product-market fit, and are looking for the right people to help us scale. This is a rare chance to make a meaningful impact at a fast-moving, high-growth company. At Northbeam, you'll join a team of driven, collaborative, and talented individuals who value personal growth and excellence. We'd love for you to be part of our journey.
We're a remote-friendly company with physical offices in San Francisco and Los Angeles.
About the RoleWe think about our product more broadly than most: Northbeam isn't only a web app. It's our data and our recommendations, delivered wherever our customers already work. Sometimes that's our platform. Sometimes it's an alert that lands in their inbox and shapes their day. Sometimes it's our data flowing into their own systems, or back into the ad platforms to make those platforms smarter. All of that is Northbeam, and all of it has to be designed.
As Senior UX Visual Designer, you'll be the person who makes it look like the best product in its category. Projects here start with our SMEs (our Media Strategists, CEO, Data Scientists and Engineers) and product team, who define requirements and work on an initial concept. You take it from there — fleshing it out, resolving the details, and bringing a level of visual craft that makes dense analytical software genuinely delightful to use. You'll work alongside product, media strategists, data science and engineering to ship.
This is a hands-on individual contributor role reporting to our Chief Product and Design Officer.
What You'll Work On- AI inside the product. Automated alerts that tell a marketer what needs attention before they ask, and interfaces where customers can shape their own views and pages through natural language. These are new surfaces that need a visual language invented for them.
- Incrementality. Making causal measurement feel approachable to someone who isn't a statistician through engaging and beautiful visualizations.
- Actionable Data Insights. A coherent visual experience across our web app, mobile, email, and the integrations that push our data into our customers' own tools and workflows.
- The core data platform. Complex, data-heavy interfaces that stay elegant as we add new capabilities for our customers.
- Take initial concepts from our subject matter experts and product team and develop them into resolved, high-fidelity design.
- Raise the visual bar across the platform — typography, color, layout, density, and the details that separate good software from forgettable software.
- Build and extend our design system so quality scales beyond any one screen.
- Design data visualizations that make complicated numbers immediately readable.
- Present work clearly to customers and executives, and give and receive critique well.
- Partner closely with our brand and marketing team on a coherent visual identity.
- 7+ years of product design experience, with solid B2B SaaS and enterprise work.
- A visually outstanding portfolio. We want to see your finished work that you’ve shipped with real command of typography, color, layout, and hierarchy.
- Real experience with complex, data-dense interfaces, including data visualization.
- Experience building or substantially shaping a design system.
- Experience taking a rough concept and making it visually exceptional
- Expert command of Figma and adjacent design tools.
- Experience using AI to expedite design processes and to enable SMEs across the organization to build designs to spec.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, including giving and receiving critique.
- Marketing, advertising, or eCommerce domain experience.
- A background that brings craft and playfulness to utility software — game design, motion, entertainment, or a formal art/design education.
- Motion design and interaction work.
Actual compensation may vary based on experience, skills, and location.
In addition to your base salary, we offer an equity package, comprehensive healthcare benefits (medical, dental, and vision), and a 401(k) plan. Our team enjoys a flexible PTO policy, 12 company-paid holidays, and 12 weeks of paid parental leave. We also provide a $500 work-from-home stipend to support your remote setup.
Interview Process
The interview process varies by role but typically begins with a 30-minute interview with a Northbeam recruiter, followed by a video interview with the hiring manager. Next, candidates complete a role-specific video interview followed by video or onsite interviews with several team members. The final step is a video interview with our CEO/Co-founder. The entire interview process is usually 5-7 interviews total and requires around 5-8 hours of your time.
We accept applications on an ongoing basis.
