Company DescriptionNeptune Pacific operates market leading brands in shipping and logistics services across 18 Pacific Island markets. It is the largest carrier in its core Pacific Island markets operating eight container ships and servicing 18 Pacific Island nations.
The Export Airfreight Officer is responsible for coordinating and facilitating the efficient handling and movement of export airfreight shipments, ensuring all cargo is processed accurately, securely, and in accordance with airline, customs, and company requirements. The role involves managing export bookings, verifying consignments, coordinating cargo storage and transfers, and providing timely customer support and quotations. The position also supports the wider airfreight team to ensure smooth and efficient day-to-day operations and the timely movement of cargo from Suva to Nadi for export.
Job Description- Book airline space once complete shipment details are received and confirmed.
- Verify all required documentation to ensure accurate preparation and execution of Air Waybills (AWBs).
- Conduct cargo screening procedures in accordance with applicable requirements.
- Assist with the loading, unloading, handling and storage of export cargo.
- Assist with import airfreight shipment clearance at the Wailekutu Bond as required.
- Assist with the transfer of cargo from Suva to Nadi to support export operations.
- Provide quotations to customers when required.
- Assist with cargo lodgement and ensure shipments are transferred to the night truck within required timelines.
- Support the team with other operational duties as required.
- Provide assistance to other departments as and when required.
Education
- Certificate or Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transport, or a related field is preferred.
- CAAF Cargo Screener and/or Quality Control license is preferred.
- Valid Group 2 Manual Driving License.
- Group 9 License will be an added advantage.
Experience
- Prior experience in airfreight exports or freight forwarding is preferred.
Skills
- Knowledge and understanding of Known and Unknown Cargo requirements.
- Good knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organisational and time-management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet operational deadlines.
- Fast learner with the ability to adapt to changing operational requirements.
