Job Description

A Day in the Life 

In support of the Respiratory Care Department, the Respiratory Care Aide is primarily responsible for keeping equipment and supplies available and ready for use in the administration of respiratory therapy. This position is responsible for equipment processing and storage as outlined by the Respiratory Care Department to ensure regulatory compliance.

  • Performs cleaning, assembly, and performance testing of patient care equipment; maintains backup equipment inventory and delivers equipment to patient care units during emergent situations.

  • Restocks Respiratory Care supply carts and oxygen cylinders; monitors inventory levels, reorders supplies, and maintains stock and non-stock requisitions as needed.

  • Maintains a clean, organized, and efficient department while monitoring compliance with regulatory requirements; coordinates with Clinical Engineering and Plant Engineering to facilitate preventive maintenance, battery maintenance, and equipment repairs.

  • Performs monthly inspections of facility public AEDs, identifies needed repairs or supplies, and notifies the Manager of inventory or maintenance needs. Performs all duties in a self-directed manner.

Qualifications

What’s Required

  • HS Diploma or GED

  • 3 years of healthcare experience OR actively enrolled in an accredited respiratory care program

Additional Information

Schedule: Full time, Variable Shift, Every other weekend rotation
