Work Type: Full-Time, On-Site   

Clearance Requirement: Active DoD Secret clearance required to start   

Certification Requirement: DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE) 

Position Summary: 

The Endpoint Systems Administrator serves as the technical liaison between the Enterprise Patch Management team and Customer Support Technicians. This hands-on technical role drives the identification, tracking, and remediation of Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) vulnerability findings while supporting endpoint version control and software compliance efforts. 

The successful candidate will bridge patching strategy and frontline execution to ensure vulnerabilities are communicated, addressed, documented, and closed efficiently across the enterprise environment. This is an IAT-track technical position, not an IAM role. 

 Key Responsibilities 

  • Hunt, triage, and drive remediation of ACAS vulnerability findings across managed endpoints. 

  • Coordinate with the Enterprise Patch Management team to align remediation timelines with established patch cycles. 

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Patch Management team and Customer Support Technicians for findings requiring local or hands-on action. 

  • Support endpoint version control and software compliance using Tanium or equivalent endpoint-management tools. 

  • Troubleshoot and resolve one-off, nonstandard endpoint issues outside routine patching and vulnerability-remediation workflows. 

  • Track vulnerability status, document remediation actions, and report aging or at-risk findings. 

  • Communicate directly with customers and support technicians to clarify findings, gather system context, and confirm remediation. 

  • Escalate systemic patching, configuration, or compliance gaps to leadership with supporting data. 

  • Support continuous improvement of endpoint vulnerability-management and patch-compliance processes. 

Required Qualifications 

  • Two to four years of experience in endpoint systems administration, vulnerability management, or a related information technology role. 

  • Active DoD Secret security clearance. 

  • DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification, such as CompTIA Security+ CE. 

  • Working knowledge of vulnerability-scanning and remediation workflows, including ACAS, Nessus, or similar tools. 

  • Solid understanding of patch management concepts, endpoint configuration, and compliance practices. 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work directly with customers and technical support personnel. 

  • Ability to collaborate effectively across technical teams with differing priorities and responsibilities. 

  • Ability to work on-site at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience with Tanium, including Comply, Deploy, Patch, or Connect modules. 

  • Demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot complex, nonrepeatable endpoint issues rather than relying solely on documented remediation playbooks. 

  • Familiarity with DoD or federal compliance frameworks, including Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and ACAS reporting standards. 

  • Experience supporting customers in a matrixed, enterprise, or customer-facing IT environment.
