Work Location SWITZERLAND Expected duration Six Months Duties and Responsibilities ​Support audiovisual digitization and preservation projects involving video, audio, photographic, and multimedia records. ​Organize, prepare, and manage audiovisual materials for processing, editing, archiving, and preservation. ​Perform basic to intermediate video editing, including trimming, sequencing, captioning, formatting, and export of audiovisual content ​Assist with audio editing activities, including synchronization, sound-level adjustments, and basic audio restoration. ​Create subtitles, captions, transcripts, and accessibility-related materials for audiovisual records. ​Conduct quality-control reviews of edited audiovisual materials, checking audio quality, image quality, synchronization, completeness, and technical compliance. ​Organize and maintain digital media assets using ARMU’s folder structures, file naming conventions, and metadata practices. ​Assist in the preparation of audiovisual records for long-term digital preservation and archival storage. ​Track project progress, maintain editing logs, and prepare project documentation and reports ​Collaborate with records management, communications, and information management teams on audiovisual initiatives. ​Participates in meetings and seminars as necessary and take notes, draft summary reports, minutes and assessment reports for presentation and monitors follow-up. ​Support to other activities and projects, with the possibility to propose own ideas and initiatives. ​Perform other activities and special projects as assigned.​ Qualifications/special skills Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher), or be in the final academic year of a first university degree programme at the bachelor’s level or equivalent. Pursuing or have pursued a degree in Information Technology/Computer Science, Communications, Film or Media Studies, Business Administration, Management or related fields. Demonstrated interest in audio-visual production, archives, records management, digital preservation, information governance, and the management of institutional knowledge and historical records. Be computer literate in standard software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and demonstrate the ability to learn and use digital records management and archival information systems. Familiarity with any video-editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools. Familiarity with audio-editing software such as Adobe Audition, Audacity, or similar tools. Knowledge of video editing and multimedia production, including the ability to edit, organize, and prepare video and audio materials for advocacy and archival purposes, is desirable. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required. Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), master's or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, master's or PH.D. Languages ​English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship. Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.
