Original job description

Company Description

Catch22 exists to help build a society where everyone has a good place to live, good people around them, and a fulfilling purpose. We call these our '3Ps'.

We achieve this in two ways. First we improve lives on the frontline through delivery of public services. Secondly, we use our knowledge to change 'the system', to fix the complex web that can trap and disempower those it was set up to help. With the heart of a charity and the mindset of a business, we are uniquely placed to deliver on this challenging agenda.

The Catch22 Employability division provides skills and employability provision on a range of programmes, both public and corporate funded. We pride ourselves on supporting the most disadvantaged in society to improve their prospects resulting in improved social mobility and sustainable positive change.

Job Description

Working within Catch22’s Employability division, you will design, coordinate and deliver high-quality, predominantly face-to-face employment preparation and skills development activities for young people on the National Jobs Guarantee.

Reporting to the Team Leader, you will work closely with Career Coaches and Employer Engagement colleagues to provide a structured, inclusive and employer-informed programme of group and individual learning. You will build confidence, employability skills, workplace behaviours and readiness for paid employment.

You will be accountable for agreed training and participant progression KPIs, accurate attendance and learning records, quality and compliance, and timely action where engagement or progress falls below expectations.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Design and maintain a rolling programme of structured group and individual employment preparation activities aligned with participant action plans, programme requirements and employer needs.

Prepare clear session plans, learning objectives, accessible resources and contingency arrangements for office, community, Jobcentre and outreach delivery.

Deliver engaging, predominantly face-to-face activities covering communication, teamwork, confidence, resilience, timekeeping, problem-solving, digital skills, interviews and workplace expectations.

Use creative, digital, practical and employer-led approaches where they add clear value to employment preparation and progression.

Adapt delivery for different abilities, literacy, digital capability, communication preferences, disabilities, neurodiversity and reasonable-adjustment requirements.

Use inclusive, strengths-based approaches to build trust, encourage participation and promote a positive learning environment.

Work with Career Coaches to identify participant needs, plan appropriate activities and ensure learning is reflected in individual action plans; Career Coaches retain ownership of allocated caseloads.

Help participants identify transferable skills and prepare for applications, interviews, employer conversations and the transition into work.

Monitor attendance, engagement, completion and learning progress; follow up non-attendance promptly with the relevant Career Coach and escalate emerging concerns.

Coordinate employer talks, workplace visits, mock interviews, sector-based workshops and other employment-focused opportunities with Employer Engagement colleagues.

Take personal accountability for agreed individual and programme KPIs, including planned sessions delivered, attendance, participation, completion, learning progression and contribution to applications, interviews and job starts.

Maintain complete, accurate and timely records of session plans, participant attendance, learning activity, adjustments, feedback, progression, risk assessments and contractual evidence.

Review session take-up, attendance and completion rates, explain variances against targets and implement agreed corrective actions.

Provide accurate delivery schedules, performance updates and realistic forecasts of future sessions, participation and resource requirements to the Team Leader.
