Position Summary: 

IEM is currently seeking a Production Control Analyst at our Jacksonville, FL location, and reports to the Planning Manager. The Production Planning Analyst is responsible for analyzing production capacity, material availability, demand priorities, and operational risks to develop and implement production-control strategies that support business objectives, customer commitments, and efficient use of resources. The role serves as a cross-functional advisor to manufacturing leadership and exercises independent judgment in recommending and implementing production priorities, recovery plans, and process improvements within delegated authority.  

 

Please note: This position requires 100% in-office presence in our Jacksonville, FL offices and does not offer remote work.  

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Analyze capacity, demand, material availability, labor constraints, and production performance to establish production-control priorities and recommend short- and long-term operating plans. 
  • Independently evaluate production constraints and determine appropriate recovery actions within established authority, including sequencing adjustments, expedite priorities, inventory allocations, and coordination of cross-functional resources. 
  • Make recommendations to manufacturing and planning leadership on significant delivery, capacity, inventory, and customer-service risks, present alternatives, business impact, and recommended actions. 
  • Lead cross-functional teams to resolve complex production constraints affecting customer commitments, plant capacity, and operational performance. 
  • Develop, interpret, and implement production-control procedures and operating practices; recommend policy or process changes to improve on-time delivery, inventory health, throughput, and resource utilization. 
  • Own production-control metrics and analysis, identify systemic performance issues, and lead continuous-improvement initiatives from problem definition through implementation. 
  • Exercise delegated authority to deviate from standard scheduling practices when necessary to protect customer commitments or business operations; escalate only matters outside established decision authority. 
  • Advise leadership on capacity planning, risk mitigation, and tradeoffs among customer requirements, production efficiency, inventory, quality, and cost. 
  • Partner with Engineering, Procurement, Quality, Maintenance, and Manufacturing to align operational decisions with business priorities. 
  • Perform other duties consistent with the strategic production-planning and operational-analysis scope of the position. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Engineering, or related field. Four years of related experience in lieu of degree will also be considered. 
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience required; prior Co-op or internship experience in a manufacturing environment will be highly considered. 
  • Demonstrated experience independently analyzing complex operational issues, developing recommendations, and leading cross-functional implementation. 
  • Ability to influence operational priorities and make or recommend decisions with meaningful impact on delivery, capacity, inventory, cost, or customer commitments. 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Teams, and Outlook. 
  • Understanding of how an ERP System flows. 
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills. Must be comfortable with organizing discussions across all levels of the organization. 
  • Organizational skills, including coordinating tasks, schedules, and resources to keep everything running smoothly. 
  • Interpersonal skills such as building rapport with team members, stakeholders, and other departments. 
  • Demonstrated career ambition with a track record of growth and increasing responsibility; highly promotable with the potential to take on broader leadership roles within a fast-paced, high-growth organization. 

 

Supervision of Personnel: 

  • This position has no direct supervisory responsibility; however, it provides leadership to cross-functional teams by coordinating work, fostering collaboration, and guiding team members toward shared objectives. 

 

Workplace Conditions:   

  • Activities: Sitting – 70%, Walking/Standing – 30%. 
  • Must be able to lift to 50 lbs.; Buddy lift up to 100 lbs. Mechanical assistance required for loads exceeding 100 lbs. (not added personnel). 
  • Vision: Long periods of close work. 
  • Mental Demands: Interpret, analyze, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. 
  • Environment: Climate controlled office space.
