Original job description

Javvy is on a mission to set a new standard for café favorites with better-for-you beverages that are craveable, convenient, and without compromise. Positioned at the intersection of café culture, convenience, and functional nutrition, we’re reimagining the drinks people buy every day — proving you don’t have to compromise between great taste and quality ingredients. What began as a cult-favorite DTC brand has rapidly scaled into an omnichannel business, now expanding into major retail while building a loyal community around better-for-you café favorites.

The Opportunity:

We're looking for an experienced Supply Chain Manager to own materials planning, procurement, and supplier management for all of Javvy's raw materials, packaging, and accessories — the ingredients and components that feed production across our network of co-manufacturers.

This role owns the flow of materials from plan to purchase order to receipt: running the material MRP, monitoring coverage and shortages, placing the right orders at the right time, and following inbound supply through to the dock. It also owns our supplier relationships and commercial negotiations, with direct impact on product availability, operational efficiency, and company margin. You'll play a critical role in building the planning and procurement processes and tools that support Javvy's rapid growth across retail, ecommerce, and new product expansion.

This is a highly cross-functional role, reporting to the Director of Supply Chain and partnering closely with Demand Planning, Production & Co-Manufacturing, Purchasing, Operations, Finance, R&D, and Quality. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on materials planning and procurement experience, understands how supply decisions impact the broader business and P&L, and thrives in a fast-moving, high-growth environment.

What You’ll Own:

Materials Planning & Purchasing

  • Own the material requirements plan (MRP) and planning file for all raw materials, packaging, and accessories across multiple co-manufacturers, keeping it current, accurate, and trusted by the team

  • Translate the demand and production plan into material requirements by co-manufacturer, accounting for BOMs, on-hand and on-order inventory, MOQs, and supplier lead times

  • Monitor material coverage and upcoming shortages on a weekly and daily cadence, with a clear view of the next 12+ weeks of production

  • Turn planning signals into timely purchase orders with the right quantities, order increments, and delivery timing to each co-manufacturer

  • Balance supply continuity against inventory and cash, avoiding both stockouts and excess or obsolete material

  • Surface shortages, risks, and trade-offs early, and drive them to resolution with Demand Planning, Production, and suppliers

Inbound Execution & Inventory Accuracy

  • Follow up on every open PO: confirm orders, track ETAs, and expedite when shipments slip — especially long-lead and imported materials

  • Keep inbound schedules current and communicate changes to Production & Co-Manufacturing before they become line-down risks

  • Keep ERP accurate for purchasing and inventory: POs, item receipts, and receipt-to-invoice matching with Finance

  • Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, and co-manufacturers to resolve receiving discrepancies, shortages, and quality holds on inbound material

Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management

  • Serve as the single owner of Javvy's raw material, packaging, and accessory suppliers, managing sourcing across our ingredient and component base

  • Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships focused on quality, reliability, scalability, and long-term partnership

  • Identify, evaluate, qualify, and onboard new and alternate suppliers to improve cost structure, operational flexibility, and supply resilience

  • Lead supplier negotiations including pricing, contracts, MOQs, lead times, payment terms, and service levels

  • Partner with suppliers on capacity planning to support demand growth and supply continuity

Cost Optimization & Business Strategy

  • Understand key business and P&L drivers and translate them into procurement and supplier strategies aligned with margin targets and operational priorities

  • Monitor commodity markets, tariffs, freight trends, and supply market dynamics impacting cost and availability

  • Drive cost savings initiatives and continuous improvement efforts across sourcing categories

  • Manage RFQs, RFPs, and competitive bid processes for strategic sourcing initiatives

  • Maintain pricing analysis, spend reporting, and supplier performance metrics to support forecasting and budgeting

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner daily with Demand Planning and Production & Co-Manufacturing to align material supply with the production schedule and maintain appropriate inventory levels

  • Partner with Finance on inventory, receiving, and invoice accuracy

  • Collaborate with R&D and Quality teams to qualify new ingredients, packaging components, accessories, and product changes

  • Support innovation and new product launches through material planning, supplier coordination, and sourcing execution

  • Ensure suppliers meet regulatory, food safety, and quality standards

Process, Systems & Tools

  • Build, not just run: design and improve the planning, purchasing, and follow-up processes and tools (MRP, coverage and shortage reporting, PO tracking) as the business scales

  • Build and maintain supplier scorecards and KPI tracking (e.g., supplier on-time-in-full, lead-time adherence, material shortages, weeks of supply)

  • Own procurement and inventory data in NetSuite and help improve how our systems support planning and purchasing

  • Establish scalable best practices and documentation around materials planning, purchasing, vendor management, and sourcing operations

What We’re Looking For
  • 3-5+ years of materials planning, procurement, sourcing, or supply chain experience

  • Hands-on experience running MRP or material planning — translating demand and production plans into material requirements and purchase orders

  • Proven ability to manage day-to-day purchasing and follow-up: placing POs, tracking open orders, expediting, and resolving inbound issues

  • Experience planning materials for external co-manufacturers or contract manufacturers, including landing materials at the plant ahead of production

  • Strong supplier management and negotiation experience with a track record of driving cost savings and operational improvements

  • Experience managing RFQs, contracts, supplier onboarding, and vendor performance

  • Experience with supply continuity and supplier risk management

  • Strong understanding of business financials and P&L drivers, with the ability to translate financial goals into procurement and sourcing strategy

  • Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills and strong attention to data accuracy (inventory, units of measure, receipts)

  • Familiarity with ERP systems and procurement tools; NetSuite experience strongly preferred

  • Experience working within high-growth companies across industries such as CPG, food & beverage, consumer products, supplements, or other fast-scaling brands

  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment with shifting priorities — equally at home in the daily details and in building better processes

  • Self-directed and highly organized in a remote setting, with clear, proactive written and verbal communication

  • Effective cross-functional collaborator with strong ownership and follow-through

  • Nice to Have

    • Experience with imported ingredients: long lead times, freight forwarders, customs, and managing slipping ETAs

    • Background in powdered food, beverage, or supplement ingredients (e.g., proteins, collagen, flavors, dairy powders)

    • APICS/ASCM CPIM or ISM CPSM certification

    • Experience building planning tools, dashboards, or reporting from scratch

Why This Role Rocks:
  • Competitive Salary

  • 100% Company-Paid Health, Dental, Vision & Life Insurance for employees
(Family coverage available at employee cost)

  • 401(k) Retirement Plan

  • Parental Leave

  • Free Access to Javvy Products

  • Career Growth Opportunities

  • Collaborative, Fast-Paced Start-Up Environment
