Description:
The Equipment Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the allocation, transfer, utilization, and maintenance of company-owned and third-party equipment in support of Michels Canada operations. This role works closely with project teams, field operations, equipment personnel, and vendors to ensure equipment is available, compliant, and operating efficiently.
The successful candidate will bring strong organizational skills, sound decision-making abilities, and a customer-focused approach to supporting operational success across the business.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and promote a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customers. Follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
- Coordinate equipment requests and allocation activities to support project and operational requirements.
- Collaborate with project teams, operational leaders, and equipment management personnel to maximize equipment utilization.
- Provide exceptional service and support to internal customers and project teams.
- Conduct utilization reviews and identify opportunities to improve equipment efficiency and deployment.
- Evaluate rental versus purchase requirements and assist in determining the most cost-effective equipment solutions.
- Coordinate equipment deliveries, transfers, maintenance schedules, and returns between projects, yards, and vendors.
- Support repair and maintenance activities through collaboration with internal teams and external service providers.
- Develop, maintain, and analyze equipment-related reports and records.
- Assist with equipment inventory tracking and utilization reporting.
- Safely move company vehicles and equipment within the yard environment as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 3 years of related experience in equipment operations, fleet coordination, logistics, construction, or a similar field. Experience in construction and equipment management
- Strong knowledge of construction and heavy equipment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license (or provincial equivalent) with an acceptable driving record.
- Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
