Senior Consultant – X++ Developer (Managed Services)
Experience: 6 to 10 Years
Location: Remote
Department: Managed Services – D365 Finance & Operations / AX Employment
Type: Full-time

About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior X++ Developer to join our Managed Services team, supporting multiple global customers on Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations and AX 2012 platforms. This role is primarily development-focused (70%), involving X++ enhancements, extensions, performance tuning, and integrations, with 30% responsibility for L3 production support, incident resolution, and system stability. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on X++ expertise, excellent debugging skills, and experience working in an AMS/Managed Services environment.

Key Responsibilities
X++ Development & Enhancements (70%) • Design, develop, and deploy minor to medium enhancements, extensions, and customizations using X++. • Develop and enhance custom business logic, batch jobs, classes, tables, forms, and reports. • Optimize system performance by tuning queries, batch processes, data entities, and X++ code. • Develop and support SSRS reports, data entities, custom services, and APIs. • Work on integrations using REST, OData, DMF, Dual-write, and custom interfaces. • Participate in code reviews, ensure adherence to best practices, and maintain high-quality standards. • Support deployments using LCS and Azure DevOps, including build and release pipelines. Production Support & Incident Management (30%) • Provide L3 technical support for D365 F&O and AX 2012 environments. • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve production incidents, defects, and service requests within agreed SLAs. • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement permanent fixes. • Collaborate closely with functional consultants and stakeholders to understand issues and deliver solutions. • Create and maintain technical documentation for fixes, enhancements, and deployments. • Proactively identify system risks and recommend improvements for stability and performance. Required Skills &

Experience
• 6–10 years of strong hands-on experience in X++ development for AX 2012 R3 and/or D365 F&O. • Solid experience working in a Managed Services / AMS / Production Support environment. • Strong expertise in extensions, customizations, SSRS reports, and data entities. • Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills, including performance optimization. • Good understanding of integrations (REST, OData, DMF, Dual-write preferred). • Hands-on experience with LCS, Azure DevOps, and deployment processes. • Ability to work independently and manage multiple customer environments. • Strong communication skills with experience working with global stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications • Microsoft certifications such as MB-500, MB-300, MB-920, PL-900, or equivalent. • Exposure to Power Apps and Power Automate. • Functional exposure to multiple modules such as Finance, SCM, Manufacturing, or HR. Education • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent.
