You are a senior delivery leader with a track record in complex programme management — known for executive presence, commercial acumen, and building trusted customer partnerships.

  • Programme delivery and P&L management expertise across large, complex, cross-regional engagements
  • Advanced C-level stakeholder management and executive communication, with the gravitas to advise, influence, and push back when needed
  • Solid commercial and legal acumen across contract management, risk mitigation, and distressed engagement recovery
  • Proven de-escalation, recovery, and portfolio risk management experience across diverse customer environments
  • Deep knowledge of SAP Activate, Clean Core, and RISE, translating customer strategy into actionable delivery plans
  • A degree in commerce, engineering, or information technology, or equivalent experience
  • Fluency in English is required for this role

In addition to the required skills and experience for this role, all candidates at SAP must be comfortable using AI tools. This means they should use agentic AI in their daily work. Candidates need to craft effective inputs, automate routine tasks, check the quality of AI-generated outputs, and encourage AI practices within their teams.

What you'll build

You will lead delivery excellence — governing a portfolio of complex customer programmes and setting the standard for how SAP delivers.

  • Own end-to-end delivery for multiple high-complexity customer programmes across scope, quality, cost, and timeline
  • Drive prevention, correction, and de-escalation — managing senior stakeholders through the full escalation lifecycle
  • Build trusted executive partnerships grounded in value management and aligned to long-term customer business objectives
  • Partner with sales, enterprise architects, and bid teams to scope,  win, and deliver new engagements across the region
  • Coach, mentor, and develop delivery teams across APAC, with a focus  on India
  • Drive adoption of Clean Core and SAP AI to deliver measurable customer value

Where you belong

You will join the Regional Customer Engagement & Services, APAC team — a senior delivery community working at the intersection of strategy, customer success, and transformation. We lead SAP's most complex customer engagements across the region, with high internal visibility and direct C-level access. This role involves up to 50% travel.

Job Description:

The Regional Delivery Executive (RDE) is a senior professional with deep (15+ years) program delivery experience. They need to have advanced, proven skills in executive communications, stakeholder management and a solid knowledge of the legal and commercial aspects of working with customers, particularly in distressed engagements. The purpose of this role is to ensure top-notch delivery. This means consistently meeting our customer commitments by grasping their needs. We package our solutions to create measurable business value within agreed timelines and budgets.

The Regional Delivery Executive must have the right qualifications, experience, and business knowledge. They will manage several large and high-risk projects and programs. These projects will involve various business units and service partners. They will also span across organizations and national borders.   This position has a high level of responsibility and exposure within SAP, the industry, and our market leading customers. They are a senior professional with an entrepreneurial mindset and business acumen as needed for this complex role.

They improve knowledge management in the company. They share lessons learned from collaboration, portfolio, and program work. They also develop best practices to ensure delivery excellence. There are 3 focus areas of the Regional Delivery Executive:

1. Prevention: A champion for Delivery Excellence and Adoption through Continuous Improvement programs:

  • Actively contributes as an expert in the Communities
  • Drives knowledge sharing across our delivery organisation with a focus on Lessons Learned
  • Actively supports knowledge      management activities
  • Actively supports customers in achieving value of SAP solutions and enables rapid innovation adoption, in partnership with our Enterprise Architects
  • Coach, mentor and develop CE&A delivery teams across APAC, with Focus on India

2. Correction:

  • Develop corrective plans on  engagements identified as Early Warning
  • Provide Governance and Thought  Leadership to turn around a delivery engagement at risk of progression to  escalation

3. De-Escalation: Project / Engagement Escalations and  Recovery

  • Intervein, support and guide  running de-escalations as needed across the region
  • Manage senior stakeholders through the full escalation lifecycle
  • Limit litigation and commercial liability through recovery activities

Key Responsibilities & Tasks

Opportunity Management

  • Define appropriate delivery  model for customer project/program/portfolio as a composition of pre-defined services, on-site and/or remote delivery – including Success Plans
  • Work with Solution Centre and Bid Management teams to scope and estimate the engagement and its component projects/programs, with a goal to ensure maximum customer  business value
  • Drive and supports the adoption of Clean Core and SAP AI

Delivery

  • Lead and own engagement-planning and program-planning activities
  • Oversee the delivery of  multiple projects related to successful engagement or program  execution.
  • Own the engagement and program plan and be in charge of delivery of its major elements including  program’s business objectives, scope and solution within quality criteria, on time and budget.
  • Drive quality in delivery,  including clarity and transparency of the project or engagement health      along with clear action plans where additional mitigation or management is needed.

Sales and Business Development

  • Close work with EAs, SAE, SSA, MPs and product sales colleagues on large bids and proposals for new business.
  • Oversee and lead the development of proposals, tenders, and or responses to requests for   proposals associated with the program in order to win new deals for SAP with minimal risks.

Coaching & Mentoring

  • Serve as a mentor and advisor to project managers. Help them with problems related to corporate and external politics. Support them in building client relations, ensuring project quality, and managing project risk during Delivery Engagements.
  • Oversee effective engagement oversight and reviews to influence customer success.

Knowledge Management

  • Maintain program documentation and updates; analyze lessons learned and actively share through the  Communities, Solution Centre, and Start Up Service for utilization on future delivery engagements, may at times lead a community
  • Organize knowledge capturing      activities at programs and ensure retention on high quality intellectual capital for SAP Field Services practices.
  • Participate in the development  of project / program management best practices, examples, templates and SAP’s Program Management Methodology

Professional Training & Certification

  • Prince2 Practitioner, PMP  or PgMP certification and /or other industry and project management  certifications
