Job Description

Join a collaborative scientific team where you will play a critical role in coordinating laboratory studies and testing activities from initiation through completion. The Lab Coordinator serves as a key liaison between clients, laboratory personnel, and support teams, ensuring projects stay on schedule, documentation remains accurate, and client expectations are met. This position is ideal for a highly organized professional who enjoys managing multiple priorities, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and supporting the successful execution of laboratory operations in a fast-paced environment.

Job Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate laboratory studies and testing activities from initiation through completion, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and client expectations are met.
  • Review quotations, purchase orders, protocols, methods, specifications, and client instructions to establish study requirements and ensure accurate execution.
  • Create and maintain study records, schedules, and project documentation within LIMS, CRM, and other designated systems.
  • Verify samples, materials, methods, specifications, and laboratory resources are available and prepared prior to study initiation.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients by providing routine updates, facilitating communication, and ensuring timely resolution of questions and concerns.
  • Coordinate activities between laboratory operations, quality assurance, sample management, stability, business development, finance, and other supporting teams.
  • Monitor study progress, turnaround times, milestones, and deliverables while identifying and communicating potential delays or risks.
  • Assist with scope tracking, change requests, and purchase order management to ensure work is aligned with client expectations and approved agreements.
  • Support invoicing activities and help resolve billing discrepancies as needed.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and audit-ready documentation in accordance with company procedures and quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot routine operational issues and escalate concerns appropriately to ensure efficient study execution.
  • Provide cross-functional support and coverage for team members as needed.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a laboratory, scientific operations, sample management, client services, project coordination, or related environment.
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a regulated laboratory environment, including pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, environmental, food, or contract testing laboratories.
  • Experience coordinating laboratory workflows, testing schedules, studies, or client projects.
  • Familiarity with LIMS, eLIMS, ETQ, CRM systems, or other laboratory data management platforms.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
  • Experience interacting directly with clients and cross-functional scientific teams.
Additional Information

Position is Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m., with overtime as needed.  Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Columbia, MO are encouraged to apply.
