About the Role:

We are seeking a seasoned Technical Project Manager to own Crusoe's international modular data center deployments . You will lead modular data center projects from powered land to “Available to Customer” in markets with different regulatory regimes, different construction norms, different utility interconnection standards, and no existing in-country playbook. This is a builder's role in every sense: you're writing the playbook on how Crusoe deploys modular compute in new geographies while executing projects in parallel.

This role will require travel up to 50% of the time, including international travel, with extended trip durations when needed to support first-of-a-kind builds.

What You'll Be Working On:

Deployment Lifecycle Management

  • Project Execution Ownership: Manage the project schedule, budget, and scope for Crusoe's international and other special project modular deployments.

  • Site Readiness: Coordinate with Crusoe and in-country subject matter experts on site preparation, permitting, and utility interconnection timelines, adapted to local codes and standards.

  • Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify bottlenecks in procurement, construction, networking, and power readiness — with an extra layer of risk for cross-border logistics, customs, and in-country political/regulatory shifts. Always have a “Plan B.”

International & Cross-Border Complexity

  • Trade Compliance Partnership: Work with Crusoe Legal and Trade Compliance to navigate customs and import/export requirements for shipping GPUs, networking gear, and Spark modules across borders. Partner with Government Affairs to engage financing entities (e.g. EXIM Bank)

  • In-Country Partner Coordination: Collaborate with in-country partners to bring Crusoe’s level of execution rigor and speedo regions where Crusoe doesn't yet have an established presence.

  • Mobility & Staffing Coordination: Partner with HR on work authorization, visas, and any temporary relocation needed to keep a Crusoe presence on the ground during critical build phases.

Cross-Functional Orchestration

  • Product Management Interface: Feed region-specific requirements to the Spark Product Manager to inform the Spark Product Roadmap

  • Internal Connectivity: Serve as the air traffic controller between Real Estate, Legal, Finance, Manufacturing Planning, Cloud Product & Procurement, Site Design & Engineering, Construction, and the Spark Business Unit for each international or special project.

  • External Partner Coordination: Manage relationships with international contractors, suppliers, customs brokers, and local authorities.

  • Reporting: Provide high-fidelity project status updates for executives, calling out the risks unique to operating outside the US, and coordinate with the Lead Technical Project Manager to keep these projects visible on the Spark deployments dashboard.

Process Standardization — Writing the Playbook

  • The International Playbook: Build the first version of a “Spark International Deployment Playbook,” capturing what's different (and what isn't) about deploying Spark outside the US, so future international sites can move faster.

  • Lessons Learned: Meticulously record lessons learned from each first-of-a-kind or international build and identify opportunities for continuous process improvement.

What You'll Bring to the Team:

  • Safety & Readiness: A relentless commitment to safety and a “Mountaineer” level focus on operational readiness.

  • Technical Project Leadership: 10-15+ years of experience managing complex, capital-intensive infrastructure or first-of-a-kind projects (data centers, energy, advanced manufacturing) with budgets exceeding $500M.

  • International Project Experience: Demonstrated experience delivering capital projects outside the United States, ideally across more than one country or regulatory regime.

  • Trade Compliance Literacy: Working familiarity with export controls, customs, and import/export processes for high-value technical equipment (prior partnership with Legal/Trade Compliance teams a plus).

  • Schedule Mastery: Demonstrated expertise in scheduling software; you leverage schedules as a proactive decision-making tool.

  • Technical Acumen: Evidence of technical breadth and curiosity to manage engineering requirements, evaluate trade-offs, and surface risks across electrical, mechanical, civil, cloud, and network engineering.

  • Cross-Cultural Fluency: Experience managing distributed, multicultural teams and in-country partners; comfortable being the only Crusoe person in the room.

  • International Regulatory Exposure: Experience navigating construction codes, labor law, utility interconnection standards, and permitting processes in foreign countries.

  • Comfort with Ambiguity: Willing and able to build a process from scratch where no playbook yet exists, rather than execute against an established one.

  • Travel Readiness: Able to travel up to 50% of the time, including international travel, with extended trip durations when needed to support first-of-a-kind builds

  • Exceptional Communication: Knows how to adjust communication styles accordingly, across cultures and contexts. Offers a steady hand at the wheel during periods of ambiguity or change.

  • Resilience: Proven ability to drive projects to completion despite global supply chain headwinds, cross-border logistics friction, or technical uncertainty. A “no surprise” mentality on timelines, schedules, and budgets, with alternatives identified so projects stay on track.

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience.

This Role Is Not a Good Fit If:

  • You need a fixed home-base routine and can't support extensive international travel.

  • You've only operated within standard US regulatory and construction frameworks.

Bonus Points

  • Spanish Language Proficiency: Professional or business-level proficiency.

  • Fluency in an additional language (beyond Spanish).

  • Prior expatriate or extended-relocation work experience.

  • Experience standing up a joint-venture or government-partnership project structure abroad.

  • Active Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Data Center Design Professional (CDCDP) certification.

Compensation Range

Compensation will be paid in the range of up to $205,000 - $250,000 + Bonus. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicant's knowledge, education, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
