Eurofins Environment Testing Australia is an Environmental testing network of fully accredited laboratories. With a staff of over 300 our laboratories are located in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane and with Client Service Offices located in Adelaide, Darwin, Newcastle and Wollongong. We also operate field sampling services out of Melbourne and Sydney. We specialise in all areas of Environmental analysis, including Contaminated Soil, Sludge, Sediments, Leachate, Soil Vapour, Trade Waste Effluents, Sewage Effluents, Stack Emissions, Work Place Air, Ambient Air, Dust, Drinking Water, Surface Water run off, River & Stream Monitoring, Seawater, and Groundwater.

Summary of position and objectives:

The LIMS Software Developer maintains, develops and operates the Eurofins Environment Testing LIMS (ELVIS) and related business critical applications and integrations. The role focuses on production support, issue resolution and system stability, while delivering enhancements and technical improvements. Approximately 70–80% of the work is application maintenance and support and 20–30% is enhancements and development.

Position responsibilities and objectives:

  • Work with the Business Analyst, IT Solutions Manager, architects and stakeholders to scope and  plan changes that improve functionality, stability and efficiency.
  • Maintain and support ELVIS, other business critical web applications, services and integrations; troubleshoot production, database and integration issues and conduct root cause analysis.
  • Develop stable, tested solutions for change requests, minor enhancements and technical improvements, including REST API integrations, JavaScript functionality and Azure Cloud Storage integrations.
  • Develop, support and monitor SQL Server solutions, stored procedures, functions, views, SSIS packages and data migration processes; address performance, integrity, availability and security.
  • Administer and troubleshoot IIS-hosted applications, deployments and configurations; monitor application performance and system health.
  • Test changes locally before beta release; follow and improve the beta to live update process and ITIL based change management and service desk procedures.
  • Document code, technical changes and support knowledge thoroughly and consistently; contribute to code reviews and continuous improvement.
  • Act as a key technical contact for the India-based development and support team, providing guidance and mentoring; work with third-party developers and global teams.
  • Coordinate with Eurofins Global IT Solutions (OneIT), with regular updates to the Eurofins APAC OneIT Director.
  • Undertake other duties directed by management and act in accordance with the Eurofins Code of Ethics and relevant policies and procedures.
Qualifications

Qualifications and experience required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Approximately 5–8 years of professional experience developing, maintaining and supporting enterprise applications, including at least five years of relevant experience.
  • Strong experience with C#, .NET Framework, .NET Core, ASP.NET Web Forms (ASPX), SQL Server, T-SQL, SSIS, REST APIs, JavaScript, PowerShell, IIS, Azure Cloud Storage and Git.
  •  Experience debugging enterprise applications, developing and consuming APIs, administering IIS applications and working in Agile or Scrum environments.
  • Understanding of object-oriented programming, source control, software development lifecycle processes, systems, IT architecture and production control.
  • Knowledge of standard office applications, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

Preferred technical skills:·

  • Azure platform services and Azure DevOps; CI/CD practices.
  •  Application monitoring and diagnostics; authentication and authorisation using OAuth2 or OpenID Connect.

Preferred skills and success profile:

  • Strong analytical, abstract reasoning, debugging and troubleshooting skills, with ownership of issues through resolution.·
  • Clear written and verbal communication; ability to structure ideas logically and work with multicultural and distributed teams.
  • Strong organisation and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage concurrent support requests and project tasks.
  • Alignment with the Eurofins Leadership Charter, mission, vision and values; comfort working in technical environments and a desire to learn and improve.
  • A hands-on, practical and proactive approach; strategic thinking and the ability to build structured plans and initiatives.
  • Strong numeracy and financial skills.

  •  Leave is subject to local legislation and Eurofins internal rules; peak periods may limit leave availability.
  • A driving licence is required for local land-based travel. Additional local, national and international travel may be required.
